>Hudson Taylor saw many Chinese come to Jesus. Mr Nyi a businessman and a Buddhist, became a Christian after listening to a sermon on the bronze snake and Jesus’ death and resurrection. He said it was the end of a long search for truth. A question he subsequently asked of Taylor is a reminder of the need for others to hear. Nyi asked Taylor how long England had known the gospel.

Taylor: Several hundreds of years.

Nyi: What! Is it possible that you have known about Jesus for so long, and only now have come to tell us? Oh, why did you not come sooner?

I heard a similar story close to home, here in the USA.
A Christian Pastor lived in a quiet neighborhood. Also, and quite a contrast, a Hells Angel was his neighbor.
They lived side by side for over thirty years. The Hells Angel inherited the home he was living in while the Pastor bought his house.
One day the Hells Angel received Jesus Christ and promptly got angry about it! He became angry with the neighbor Pastor!
He expressed his anger directly at the Pastor neighbor, who, not once, shared Christ with him those thirty years.
The Hells Angel came to see what Hell is, the presence of Our God, angry and full of wrath in eternity for those unfortunate rebellious ones who find themselves there in the lake of fire after passing out of this life.
The Hells Angel came and confronted the Pastor and said: “you knew about hell and the reality of it all this time, you knew about God’s Grace and those who receive it and you never once shared these Truths with me, why?”
And so it is with each of us lowly humans! We are lowly humans, afraid of man, dead in trespasses and sins and it is not until God “makes” us alive with Christ that we will pass from death to Life in Jesus Christ in this life:::>
Rom 6:8 Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him.
Rom 6:9 We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him.
Rom 6:10 For the death he died he died to sin, once for all, but the life he lives he lives to God.
Rom 6:11 So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.
Rom 6:12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, to make you obey its passions.
Rom 6:13 Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness.
Rom 6:14 For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.
I am sure the Hells Angel’s reaction is normal and natural and human! Mine was and is this way everyday. There now is no condemnation for us who are alive in Christ!
Our salvation is not by any works that we have done.
It is God and God alone who gets all the Glory for the salvation of our lost souls!
