>Am I dumb?

> I was directed to this quiz. I managed 25/25. So I thought I would try the impossible quiz. That is, it is impossible to get 100% (first time). It was significantly harder, I only got 15/20. They also have an IQ test, though I am not certain how accurate these internet tests are; I mean 20 questions seems a little too few. I have never done a real IQ test, it is not something that was done at school. Though I believe these tests may be a little more common in the United States.

I guess the ratings for the first 2 are skewed to the right as some people are likely to redo the quiz after they find the answers.

I was 24/25 and 15/20 respectively. Agreed, the second one was way harder.
IQ tests were big in the USA back in the 50’s and 60’s, but have since fallen out of use. I’ve never done a real IQ test either. However, my folks both have.

I think IQ tests are have some validity, I just question online short format. I got 157 on theirs which I am happy with, uncertain as to the accuracy.
I think that a multitude of questions smoothes out the variation. There is a related concept called “g” though I know little about it. But is apparently based on averaging very large number of tests (or questions).
I am also interested in the concept of talking across IQs. I think it can be done, but I wonder whether it is a skill to developed. There is much we assume when we speak, and the realisation that people may need to explain their thoughts in more depth to be understood by others is important. I think CS Lewis probably does this well, though better in his latter material.
